Bekang (Pronounced bey-kang)
Bekang is another traditional dish that comes with two types of sauce or gravy, one white and savoury and the other brown and sweet. Bekang consists of rice flour and eggs and is cooked in specially made moulds. The white savoury sauce is made from rice flour and coconut milk with ginger and shallots thrown in. The sweet gravy is made from palm sugar and rice flour. The latter seems to be a more popular choice. Some vendors may wrap the bekang in a triangular shaped banana-leaf.
